Adaptations to a HyperStar must be made with a tolerance of better than +/- 0.3mm, otherwise the image quality will decrease rapidly. Please see the picture on the right, which shows the respective back focus.

Example: A Celestron C11 has a back focus of 59.7 mm plus a shift of approx. 0.66 mm of the focus point to the extra focal when using 2 mm thick filters such as e.g. are common in 2 "M48. As a rule of thumb: a third filter thickness gives the offset in the direction of the extrafocal. From this rounded 60.7 mm, the back focus of the camera is then subtracted. The remaining optical length is adjusted by the UFC together with adapters. If there are any uncertainties It is best to order which HyperStar and camera you want to use when ordering.
